Recovery Services

Before you head off on your 4WD adventure you should consider who might be able to assist in your recovery should the worst happen. Four Wheel Drive Australia always recommends that outback travel is done in groups so that you can help each other but sometimes the problem is more than the group can handle and professional assistance may be required. Remember to take a suitable communication device for the area you will be visiting.

Your insurance might recover a vehicle that has been in an accident, but they are very unlikely to assist if you are stuck in a mud hole or have broken down. Your state based motoring organisation most likely will limit their assistance to roadsides. The organisations listed on this page claim to offer an "off-road" recovery service.  4WD Australia provides these contacts as a general community service. No guarantee of suitability or availability is offered. Travellers must determine this for themselves, preferably before they enter a remote area.

The recover services are grouped by general area, scroll down or click the links below.
